Eating disorder

What lies beyond eating disorders?

There's a mismatch, an imbalance. Between who you are and who you'd like to be. Between what you feel and think about yourself and what you believe others expect or think of you. Between your own resources and the crisis life throws at you.

There is fear and insecurity. Sometimes, ill-advised comments that can cause a lot of harm. And people seek security by trying to control food and their physical appearance, because these are concrete, tangible things that seem like they can be freely modified on their own, without needing anyone else. But beyond a certain point, that's not the case. And the supposed solution becomes a trap.

Everyone wants to feel included, to find their place, but often they end up trapped. Because eating disorders function in practice like an addiction born from a need that gets buried deeper and deeper inside.
